    Description

    Herschel T-BT is a compact battery-powered thermostat control designed to work exclusively with Herschel XLS heaters with their built-in SMART-R receiver.

    T-BT features a manual temperature mode, a 7×1 day program mode and a holiday (or Away) mode. All modes will operate your Herschel heater(s) by turning them ON if the room temperature is lower than the desired temperature and will turn them OFF once the desired temperature is reached or exceeded.

    The T-BT is designed to be easy to operate and incorporates the latest energy-saving features including Herschel’s open window technology and an adaptive start function ensuring your room is always at the right temperature with the least energy use.

    The T-BT can  be paired to more than one heater meaning multiple heaters within the room can be controlled with the same T-BT thermostat.

    The T-BT is not wifi enabled and will not work with the Smartlife App.

    Note: The T-BT will only work with Herschel XLS heaters. It is not possible to operate the T-BT with any other brand of infrared heater.

      Easy to use and does the job but as per my previous review, the sensitivity on both the buttons and temperature bands could be improved for a product of this price. Battery powered is convenient for our existing rooms but will look at mains powered when we fit the panels in our new extension

      Very easy to use, but find that it’s not that responsive on the button panel, takes a couple of presses to get it to react. Like a previous review, the temperature does seem to flit by 5 degrees when buttons are pressed. It’s also not that finely tuned with regards temperature triggers, for example if room set at 21 degrees, panel will switch off at 21.5 or even 22. Think the sensitivity of the temperature could be better for something of this price. Did have an issue with the first one provided but the staff were very helpful and organised a replacement very quickly.

      Fast delivery and clear instructions. The controller does the job for our infra red panel. Two criticisms 1. The display is rather dim. 2. The program set up is quite complex, and i have yet to master it

      On the plus side it is easy to set up and pair with the XLS heaters. Minor problems are the buttons often need several presses to get a response, and you can’t see the target room temperature unless you press the +/- buttons, which then changes it by 0.5 degrees. But the one major flaw with this control is it uses too wide a temperature range. Although it displays in 0.5 degree increments, if you set the target temperature at say 20 C, it won’t switch the heaters on until room temperature drops to 19 C, or off until it reaches 21 C, so the room frequently feels either too hot or too cold. That’s effectively a 2 degree range. I would expect a default of heaters on at 19.5, off at 20.5, or at least have the option to set the sensitivity, as it could vary in different rooms. Unfortunately I won’t fit more infrared heaters in my house until there’s a better method of controlling them.
